Prior to establishing Madeleine King & Assocs Ltd in 2007, Madeleine:
Served as a Calgary Alderman from 2001 to 2007, handling visionary densification, especially in the Beltline; champion of sustainability, walkable communities, and a vibrant arts scene.
She was a member of the Calgary Planning Commission (2008-2010) making recommendations to City Council regarding land use and urban planning. The term coincided with the successful adoption of the current Municipal Development Plan and the Land Use Bylaw.
She was part of the leadership of ImagineCalgary, PlanIt, TOD, the Beltline ARP, and the CentreCity Plan.
She has two years’ experience as a Master’s student in Environmental Design at the University of Calgary, where she is now a member of the Dean’s Advisory Circle.
